This event will bring Cadets and Mentors together from throughout the country to learn more about critical topics gripping the law enforcement profession today.
During the Summer Showdown, Cadets will benefit from presentations provided by prominent law enforcement, public safety and academic leaders while demonstrating their knowledge, skills and abilities in a competitive training environment. Trophies, medals and prizes will be awarded to recognize their superlative performance and achievements. There will also be a separate training track for Mentors.
It is the goal of the Public Safety Cadets program to foster better conversations and interactions between cops and kids. We also hope this event will help young people see public safety as an appealing career choice and better prepare them to assume critical roles as the public safety officers of tomorrow.
Gatlinburg is a scenic environment, famous for abundant recreational facilities, restaurants and lodging options. Cadets and Mentors will have fun making new life-long friends while sharing an experience that will shape the rest of their lives.
